monmouth3817 Posted January 7, 2013 Share Posted January 7, 2013 Hello All,Here are details of our Stargazing Live event, being held this Friday:-Friday January 11th (7pm start): Free Observing Night & Exhibition at Erewash Museum, High Street, Ilkeston, Derbyshire DE7 5JA. IDAS members will be showing off the night sky (weather permitting!) with a range of telescopes. There will be various presentations, along with a display of member’s drawings and photographs. The weather forecast for tomorrow night doesn't look too good, but we'll keep our fingers crossed. At our last event held at Erewash Muesum back in November 2011 we had about 120 people turn up, even though it was totally cloudy. The year before we had clear skies and got 170 people. Feedback from the Museum has been good, so we hope for a good crowd tomorrow. If it's clear we'll have scopes showing off stuff, and if it's cloudy we've got several presentations organised, and the scopes will be used as part of the display. The Friends of the Museum are doing the refreshments this year which is nice, and allows us astronomers to do the astronomy stuff.
