It's the same technology as the skyprodigy scopes. It good for ease of finding objects I guess. The thing that I find funny about the skyprodigy scopes is that the advertising line is "no knowledge of astronomy necessary, anyone can become an instant astronomer".

It kind of takes the fun out of it a little. I know I can't really preach as I use an NEQ6 now but I did have a Dob for a year and it really helped me learn where things were.

EDIT

On reflection I guess anything that encourages people into the hobby is a plus. However I do think "graduating" onto a system like this or GOTO in general is better IMO as it forces you to learn the sky and how to star hop. I personally like looking up at the constellations and learning their names-just my opinion :)

Tobias, there's loads of fun to be had, flat batteries, duff leads, houses in the way so the align don't work. How much fun can you have! :lol:
