cosmic dave Posted February 5, 2013 Share Posted February 5, 2013 I have been avoiding newtonians over the years because I was scared to death of collimation and have always stuck with refractors. Anyway after many goes on dobs and newts at elac meetings I bit the bullet and got myself an 8" dob. I have now got the hang of this collimation lark, what was I scared of it aint difficult! philjay Posted February 5, 2013 Share Posted February 5, 2013 Collimation on a newt isnt so easy when starting from scratch. I have done a few mods on my 8" newt and since Ive been having a heluva job. I know it can perform better as it worked superbly before I started messing. Give me refractor collimation every time.
