Nexstar Balance

Have just put my new 2" diagonal on the 8SE and it is significantly larger than the old one - at what point do I need to start thinking about extra balancing weights, or will just moving it all the way along the bar do?  I have a Hyperion Zoom at the moment so no big EPs going on, but that could change in future!

Are the extra weights more for if you are doing AP, and for just visual with 2" EPs I would be OK?

Thanks Pat - problem is on the Nexstar mount it is not that easy to tell if it is balanced as it is the single fixed arm side mount - unless there is something I am missing?  I have done the balance on  a pencil thing and got it balanced before, and now put new diagonal in just moved it back a bit further?

Excellent - thanks Pat.  Sorry - just 1 more question - by setting the OTA slightly forward of the mark wont that make it front end heavy, so I would need to move the OTA back to put more weight on the back?  Or am I reading that wrong?

Thanks Pat - might take you up on that.  I am not having problems as such as it is attached fine, just want to get balance right to save on the gears.  Will have a go - thanks again!
