Next LAS meeting is this coming Tuesday Feb 26 at 7.30pm at the National Space Centre when Prof David Evans from Birmingham University will speak on 'Recreating the Big Bang in the World's Largest Scientific Experiment - the Large Hadron Collider'.

Brilliant talk tonight covering fundamental particles to quark-gluon perfect liquids, interesting facts (it would take the CERN LHC 100 million years to make the 1/2 gramme of anti-matter as per the Dan Brown book), and practical demonstration of super-conductivity with the aid of a bucket of liquid nitrogen.


 


Superb.
