Hotech problem

Rusty Strings

Not so much a problem with the laser as the 2" adaptor. The 3 rubber rings seem to have expanded and don't allow the adaptor to be inserted the focuser without dragging.

Can they be replaced?

funny you should say that John, a newbie, Allan the plumber had the opposite problem, when tightening the 2" adapter the rings wouldn`t expand the rubber washers, FLO replaced then adapter for him free of charge.

don`t know if you bought it from them or not.

If they are O rings, then could someone let me have the Hotech, I'll measure it, and the O ring cross section. There is a company near me that I get bearings and seals from, Iam sure they would be able to help.

It sounds like the O ring is degrading, and beginning to expand, causing the trapping problem.

they are like rubber o rings, but they have flat or square faces to them instead of being round like normal o rings if that makes sense

Are they square then, or do they have a flat face n one side, but round for the rest of the section?

They are rectangular in cross section. With the tightening ring loose, the rubber bits are loose on the adapter tube
