Researchers Discovered a Very Rare Type Ibn Supernova

Using the Pan-STARRS telescope, researchers discovered a very rare Type Ibn supernova on the outskirts of an elliptical galaxy.


 


“This supernova is one-of-a-kind,†said Nathan Sanders of the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics (CfA), lead author of the discovery paper. “And it’s definitely in the wrong neighborhood.â€


 


What with this and the discovery of the oldest (possibly too old) star which challenges many of the current theories on the origin and mechanics of the known Universe, it makes me think a multi-verse is becoming more likely as an explanation.
