Using the Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array (ALMA) and gravitational lensing, scientists have obtained new measurements of some of the oldest galaxies in the universe, revealing that some of the most vigorous bursts of star birth in the cosmos took place much earlier than previously thought.

It seems this past few weeks we are finding one or two surprises concerning the age of stars and galaxies. I wonder if the age of the Universe may be re-calculated? Food for thought if stuff keeps challenging previous theories is it plausible to think we could have got it wrong?

It wouldn't surprise me if our current understanding of the universe was completely wrong.
