Celeste
Had a good evening at stargazing event at Garendon, met up with Melissa and had a good look at the scopes. Met some members of Leics and Notts astronomy clubs Not much viewing went on as it kept clouding over with drizzle, but at the end of the evening one was outside with a Meade lx200 which I loked through. Nice views of M42 and Jupiter but that's all about we managed to see. Again, talking to the teachers at the school they are very interested in having an astronomy club set up, and were interested in talks on astronomy etc, both me and Melissa were OK with taking our scopes up, would any of you guys be willing to help out with talks etc? +Rusty Strings
I'd be up for a talk depending when it was.
BAZ
I think this is the way forward, grassroots stuff really gets people fired up when they find out they don't need a degree to enjoy it. I would be interested to get involved as well. We might need CRB checks doing if working with the kids. I have just contacted the CRB and asked what we would need to do.
