I have the 1.25" Skywatcher and the Baader and see no difference for the money.

Based on that experience I invested in the 2" Skywatcher and use it all the time for DSO CCD and even DSLR widefield.

Thanks everyone.

I already have a SW 2" LPR, so it would seem that this has it covered.

Much appreciated.

Guest CodnorPaul

I was looking at buying some filters fir visual use - based on the above what's the best bet then.  It was not really for LP but in the hope of pulling some more detail out on both planets and DSO's?

For visual Paul, I would suggest an OIII filter. These really bring out the fainter nebula's such as the Veil in Cygnus. M57 benefits from it as well. It doesn't work on reflection nebula's too well though as these don't emit light, so it's the wrong wave length of light.
