Lunar through antique scope

Got back tonight from an evening out and the moon was up, couldn't be bothered with setting the obs scope up so grabbed my 100+ year old 3" brass Broadhurst Clarkson refractor and had a look at the moon for an hour.

Couldn't resist chucking the QHY5 on it and taking a snap, I just love the contrast this scope gives in images. So heres my shot, its a stack of 66 frames in registax, sharpened in registax and slight contrast adjustment in PS7.

Shows what can be done with brass and glass :)

Has to be a contender for POTM  :) .

Lovely crisp image from a combination of old and new tackle.

Thanks folks but I think there would be mutiny in the ranks if the judge of potm were to award it to himself :-) :-)
