Just a couple of targets tonight.


 


All taken using the 200 newt with the Atix 314 L

Yes the moon does it for me. That is amazing. I think maybe the best moon i've seen ever.

Stunning photography. Can you see M13 and M92 on the screen to make sure it's on the CCD? Or do you focus on a bright star local to the object, then "go to" the area where the target object is, take an exposure and if it's not present, or not centered, adjust the scope until target is found?

stunning shots both, love the detail of the moon....not so sure about the false spike, I don't mind them I just think these are slightly over done in this shot

Its all done 'on screen'

Set the Atik on 'loop' without saving the images.

Center up the target and then capture the images.

Not too sure about the spikes either.

Just me playing with the Astro tools in PS

I wish there was a way to tone them down.

Noel has a newer program that runs in PS 'Star Spikes Pro' although I don't use it my self I helped him test it out, it gives a very convincing spike, you could quite easily be fooled into thinking they are real.

Very nice Graham, but I agree on the spikes. I much prefer the shots "as they are". Natural wonders.

I like the moon one so much I'm using it as my wallpaper on my phone!
