Open University Visit 26/04/2013

In attendance was myself, Eddy, Mike and Dave.

We had a talk about meteorites and the work the OU does related to them, about their input into existing space missions that involved NASA and ESA, we met some of the researchers, looked at some funk gizmos, played with the microscope and got to hold various meteorite fragments and a piece of Mars.

A thoroughly enjoyable day.

A fascinating day out - meteorites & the machinery they use to analyse them, much of which is home brewed in the best 'men in sheds' tradition. (Note that the middle gas cooling vessel in funky machine 1 really is a shop bought vacuum flask). These guys made something that has been on it's way to visit a comet (rendezvous next year) since 2004.

Thanks for organising & driving Craig!
