Startravel 120 gets my vote, short and compact but with plenty of aperture for grabbing the faint fuzzies, I restarted astronomy back in the 90s with one of these and it was excellent for deep sky, not so hot on planets and lunar due to CA but it still gave enjoyable views. This scope was responsible for me getting on the long slippery imaging slope :D

The wifes got a mini cooper also but Ive got my van, I can carry much bigger scopes in that :D

Cheers guys , was thinking the st 120... We did have 2 cars but my mx5 was worse lol

I got the chance to get one cheap but in an az3 mount .. I know this would be easier to travel with and instant set up but might be flimsy ?

The AZ3 mount is OK, nice and light and portable and should be OK with the 120 for low power visual, which an ST120 is good for. I had mine on an EQ3 which held it nice and steady, actually it was a perfect match for the scope size. I fitted drives to it as well and it was very versatile. The EQ3, tripod and scope will pack up easily into a mini
