Whale Galaxy project complete.

Last night I set the rig up with the canon to take a colour shot of the Whale.

Helios 127 Frac

Canon 350D modded

51 x 300 second subs at ISO 800

21 Darks

51 Flats

Stacked in DSS

Processed in PS6

I then took the resulting image and put it into PS6 along with my B&W image taken with the Atik 314L.

After converting the colour image to the same resolution as the B&W I cropped the Galaxy from it.

I then cut and pasted this cropped image onto the B&W image as a layer.

Using the Transform tool in PS6 I aligned and merged  the two together.

After a couple of hours of blending colour aligning and tweaking this is the final result.

That`s pretty awesome Graham, a lot of detail visible.

Thank you Mark.

I must admit I am well pleased with the final result.
