Saturn 060513

These are my best attempts from tonight, thought I would share.

All taken through the Orion Optics F6 newt on my CGE mount using the IMGOH camera.

The small one is at f12 using the vixen 2x barlow, Titan is poking through on this one 100 frames.

The medium one is at F18 using the Meade 3x barlow, 2135 frames

The big un is a daft attempt at f30 stacking both barlows, there was considerable droop giving the fuzzy image but it was a test to see if I could use this set up with a 5x Powermate and its a positive I reckon. 1000 frames

Anyrode the clouds coming over now so I think that's tonights session over soI reckon I shall be packing away

Oh and the F12 one is indicating the north polar storm or hexagon, quite pleased with that :D

This F18 one shows the North Polar Hexagon a little better I think

Conditions still aren't letting me get a clean crisp Cassini division unfortunately

Thanks folks

One thing this exercise has shown and that my vintage newt needs cooling fan/s. It has a closed mirror cell, (80s technology which OO used well into the 90s), and the tube currents are degrading the images a bit.

So another project is coming I can feel it in my water :D
