Guys,

Seen some good filters out there.  Any ideas on a decent one for a SW ED80.

Not a Tony Hart by nature so sticky tape and DIY are out!

Any that give a decent yellow/orange view as opposed to white?

Cheers

I made mine out of the Baader film, fitted inside a cap which fits over the end of the telescope (off ebay) and has a hole in the middle, so some DIY needed but it looks the business, not a cardboard and tape looking jobby.

Most people get the colour added in photoshop afterwards with this method.

My D_I_Y skills are <expletive> but even I can do it. I've been using these filters since 2002 and am not blind yet. I normally colour the disc light green to enhance the contrast but using GIMP (free), Photoshop, etc you can choose any colour you like.

WARNING: Looking at the Sun can become extremely addictive and you may be forced into more expensive narrowband instruments to get even better views.

Here's my solar gallery to get you started: http://s197.photobucket.com/user/PhillipPugh/library/Sun%20in%20normal%20Light?sort=3&page=1
