Had a play with the 4" F15 with my cameras today to take a closer look at the active region


So here's the fruits of my labours


 


Scope 1979 4" F15 fullerscopes deluxe refractor


Solar filter - Kendrick film


Filters, Baader IR block and contrast booster plus Antares red


 


Low mag image is a stack of 100 frames using the Atik 314l in mono at 2x bin


 


Close up is using the IMGOH video with a stack of 1020 frames


 


Both stacked and wavelets in Registax and false colour applied in PS


 


Quite pleased with the 4", the old girl performs well with this ere modern digital  malarkey :D

That first one is my favourite, puts the size of the sunspot into perspective.

Thanks guys, it shows that the achromatic refractor is still a useful tool despite the apo revolution.
