NGC 281 - A happy accident.

As the title says tonight's session was a bit of an accident that turned out for the better.

I had been reading up on the different Nebula and found this one.

From the description it sounded like a perfect 'new' target for me.

A bright Neb with loads of details ect ect.

So I lined up the scope and calibrated the guiding.

Sitting waiting for the first 20 minute sub to roll in I was imagining all sorts as to what this target could look like.

So you can imagine my surprise when up popped the 'Pacman' on my screen.

Well I decided as I had made such a mess of my last attempt at this I would leave it be and see what I could do this time.

GT 81

Atik 314 L

Baader 7Nm HA filter.

12 subs at 1200 seconds

No flats

No Bias

Stacked in Maxim

Polished a tiny bit in PS 6.

I would class this as one of your better captures.

It looks great.

Thank you Mick.

I am beginning to get the hang of processing these now I have found a way to do it that I can replicate time after time.
