i've tried star trail photography last night. after 40 or so minutes camera lenses started suffering from dew. is there any cheap and reliable way to keep dew away from my camera and lenses. thanks.

One of our chaps straps a couple of hand warmer pad things round the front of the camera lens and it seems to work for him - might be worth a try. Otherwise a second hand 2-channel dew controller and small dew strap would be the best idea. You can get diy kits to tailor your own size of strap - if you search our diy section there's a thread on it somewhere. Hth :)

cheap 12v hairdryer can be usefull also, quick blast of gentle heat and it should keep the dew off for a while, i used to do this on my sct corrector plate.
