'Scope now all flocked, re-assembled and collimated (I think)

The next thing to address are the hideous tube rings.

I'm going to need rings, mounting plate and dovetail saddle. I was wondering about Orion rings and plate, but I've not seen a dovetail saddle. I'm also expecting that I'm going to have to adapt the saddle clamp plate to the mount, as it's got two finger wheels to fix the saddle plate onto the mount.

Here's a snap of the mounting system. Pain in the arse to attach the scope so a dovetail system is gonna be the way to go..

Looks good. I hope all your effort pays off - i'm sure it will.

What length is the tube, it looks really long.

James.

Yeh, it's just over a meter long. Makes it around an f5 I think.

Lets hope the cloudless blue skies continue ... am itching to give it a try.

Yep 1200.

I got a pair of skywatcher rings (thanks sheila) and padded them out with thin cork tile from b&Q, they are about 2 mm thick. I cut these to the width of the inside of the rings, removed the old felt from the rings, glued the cork in then used wilco flocking as felt for the inside. These fitted perfectly and the benefit is they are ROUND not like the egg shaped OO originals.

Not sure what you mean about mounts Pete, i used it mainly on my observatory cge mount with occassional forray with heq5 and giro11.

I use the past tense cos I sold it sunday, I have replaced it with the sw 180 pro mak
