Wow, what a night!

Firstly massive thanks to Steve for a brilliant talk on the wonders of the winter sky. All those we spoke to enjoyed it immensely and thought it was a perfect level with enough for the more experienced member, yet easy enough going for the less experienced to understand and digest. Many thanks Steve!

Thanks also to all those who attended and made the first meeting in a while a great success.

The clouds were very kind to us and we had chance for some observing starting with a view of M31 although in quite a small FOV, but the very first time it has been in the eyepiece of the MPOLE light bucket! Next on to the Moon quite low down and over the glow of Nottingham and the Long Eaton Chestnut Fair. Mare Frigoris just skimming the terminator nicely in the 40mm E.P. Next we moved on to Jupiter now rising a little but again in a bad spot really. Some banding was visible along with all 4 major moons strung out to either side.

Our next meeting is currently being planned, pencil the 16th Dec in your diaries, we shall confirm in the next week or so along with details of what will be happening.

Clear Skies All!
