 Some  narrow band filters are sold for visual use.


So what is the difference, if any, between these and those used on a camera for AP work ?

I believe it is due to the higher quality glass required for AP that your eye simply does not need - and that's why the cost is so much more.  The coatings are probably the same.

I should have realised that as I did try putting a cheap visual LP filter inside my 450d and the focus went to pot.
