January Meetings

Recommended Posts

And a Happy New Year to all from the staff of MPOLE!

2014 Kicks off with Stargazing Live. Our public event is on Tuesday the 14th January, starting at 6:00pm until 8pm all are welcome. We have a number of you attending with some equipment on show and hopefully doing some outdoor observing if the weather permits.

The first official LEAS meeting is on Thursday 30th January at 6:00pm.

Guest speaker Liam Harris of Leicester University will be giving a talk on Britain’s involvement with the next planned mission to Mars! Liam is an Astrobiologist working with the design team of one of the instruments for the European Mars rover ExoMars, continuing the hunt for signs of life on the red planet. After this there will be a brief "what's up" from Mike Perkins followed by some observing in the observatory if the weather permits.

Refreshments from 5:45pm. All welcome, all under 16's must be accompanied by an adult. We ask for a small donation of £2 for none members.

Memberships will be starting again as of January at a very reasonable £12 for the year. For those joining part way through this will be reduced by £1 per month, so joining in February would cost £11, March £10 and so on.
