Yeah. Agree with you about longer exposures.. and we thought we were over doing it with 3min subs lol.

Got the hang of adjustment layers and the gaussian blur to preserve the central detail.

Chuffed that I captured the propeller.

Thanks for your help last night.  :D

Nice image Paul,

Good detail in the centre of the cluster and not over exposed like mine :)

I like the star burst effect so need to make one of those cross air things that you showed me to cover the front of the lens.

If you're after a quick and easy way to get spikes, I've heard taping cotton across your dew shield does the trick.

There's software that can do it for you but that's cheating  ;)

Nice work and better colour than I'm getting on my stars :)

Steve

I do ramp up the saturation to get a bit of colour.

Looks good. Yes doesn't look blown out at all. How many subs and how long were each? Is the focus ever so slightly off as the stars look a bit ball light rather than points of light.

But another lovely WW image.

Hi James

Yes. You could be right about the focus.

I've made a bahtinov and focused accurately but noticed it did shift a bit when I locked off the focus.

12 subs at 180s for outer, 90s for core

12 flats, darks, bias

ISO 800
