Hi everyone,

Managed to take this image and DSS finally stacked my picture!

Taken using SW 150PDS, EQ5 and a Canon 650D (unmodded with coma corrector).
Using Backyard EOS, Deep Sky Stacker and Paint Shop Pro X6.
20 x 40 second lights, no darks (I forgot!) 10 Mins in total.
ISO800

I know the stars are not very good and have a indent, I think this was from the focusing tube as I had to have it almost all the way in to get any focus, any ideas on this would be gratefully received as would any other tips, criticism.

Thanks for looking :)

great effort, M13 can be a tricky target to get right as you need long exposures for the fainter outer stars but short exposures also as to not burn out the core

Really nice.

The stars are brighter than in my attempt.

Can see the propeller clearly  :)

Considering you weren't guiding the star shapes aren't bad at all.

I'm surprised you can focus at all. I cant get the drawtube in far enough on my reflector without a barlow.

I've read articles where you can remove the mirror, chop a bit off the tube and replace the mirror so the focal length is reduced.

Not something I fancied myself  :o

great image there Vicky.

If you are having problems getting focus you can replace your primary mirror screws with longer ones and add some springs which will move the primary mirror up the tube a bit thus making it easier to gain focus.
