Hi,

I have the same scope, and yours looks great, but I have a question, the weight you have on the underneath looks big enough to balance the scope with the camera and things on the back, in the horizontal position, but with that scope on top how much more weight do you need to add to balance in RA, if you let the RA clutch off and let the scope hang down, with such a small weight it would be very heavy on one side, and would not guide well at all, and put a lot of strain onto the RA gears, I have to have 2.6kg of weight on mine to balance it all round with a similar set up to yours, just wondered how you manage.

This is how mine looks ( the camera is not fitted, picture just to show weights)

As you can see one smaller weight at front to balance cameras on back, and large weight in middle combined with front weight to balance the guide scope on top, so full 2D balance system.

Thanks guys,

You have solved my problem before I had chance to look into it :) cheers for that !!! I'm just fabricating additional weights for the back end now.

Your scope looks the biz too, what's on the end of your finders scope???

Do you mean me?

If so my finderscope or guide scope?

That a meade DSI in an diagonal on the guide scope, although I use a QHY5II mono now without the diagonal

And the finder has a 45degree diagonal in, and I have a right angle finder now, the extra weights need to be placed directly between the fork arms so they have no bearing on the horizontal axis, the weight at the from will then be for balancing the front back balance.

Or maybe you did nor mean me!!

Regards

MM

Olly,

I meant the finder scope pal, i was viewing the post on my phone so it looked like something attached to the standad 8x50 but on second looks you have replaced the standard one for an Antaras one..
