This is my first DSO captured with my barn door tracker (described on another thread), a few days ago.

30 minutes exposure jpeg, with 75-300mm Tamron zoom lens set at 200mm. ISO 800.

Plate solving shows M12 to be trhe arrowed DSO

Although this image was well cooked as LP was the moon and the star images are not good it does

illustrate that a barn door can track for long times using tele lenses with little star trailing.

I just love it when home brewed engineering comes together.

That is a very impressive piece of engineering you have achieved there Richard.

I congratulate you for you single minded determination to create an engineering work of art. :2thumbsup::notworthy::respect:

Thank you Pete and Graham.  Yes, It was very satisfying to have built it all oneself.

Excitement and problems to be solved all the way during construction.

Now to set up the GOTO synscan head, and start more excitement with subs/flats/stacking and RAW's.  :)

......Oooow, and not forgetting more problems too no doubt. :D
