Sagittarius Triplet, Avalon First Light.

Not being a fan of (affordable) worm and wheel mounts I decided to give the Avalon a go since Ian King had them on offer. The mount is beautifully made and gives a very good guide trace, though it is, so far, sensitive to wind and vibration. We are at the upper limit with the TEC140 and its length and high moment of inertia don't help. (Both ends are heavy with a triplet up front and a huge doublet flattener at the rear. But it's results which count.

This image, taken with guest Paul Kummer, is a 2 panel HaLRGB using our Atik 11000 mono. Total exposure time was 14.5 hours with the right hand side getting a better share of the clear sky time!
