Hi,

My M71 from about 2 weeks ago, only just got round to processing it, not the best with focusing and stars are a bad shape. However my 5 year old likes this one and says it looks like a Rocket and should be called the Rocket Cluster :D.

Anyway:

SW 150 PDS, EQ5 Pro Synscan GOTO.

Guiding: SW ST80 and QHY5

Modded Canon 600D with CLS clip filter

Using: BYEOS, PHD, DSS and trial version of Photoshop.

ISO 400

Subs about 20 min in total lights, 10 x mins Darks

Cheers all,

Very nice image :)

That is one of my favourite summer clusters.

I remember reading about this as a child, when all the books were uncertain whether it was a dense open cluster or a loose globular cluster. After research in the 1970's, it has now been confirmed as a loose globular.
