Rusty Strings Posted February 25, 2012 Share Posted February 25, 2012 I doubt any random marks on the primary would be responsible as a mucky mirror generally degrades the level of reflected light rather than producing in focus artefacts at the eyepiece/camera. Also if you can't see anything serious dirt then the mirror is ok. I've not cleaned my 200p in the 5 years I've had it and nobody mentions the poor view. Check the EP next, there are two places. The glass at the top where you look through The glass at the bottom that is closest to the secondary mirror, you need to remove the 1.25" barrel to do this properly Finally visually, do you see any crud when you use it as an EP?
