Well this wasn't going to be my target for the night, I was hoping to begin collecting data on M42 but I might as well have been shining a torch down my telescope the moon is so bright so I'll try for Orion another, moonless, night.

However this picture was taken purely to test focus and wait for Orion to rise high enough to image. It's only 4 x 600s in Ha but I'm pleasantly surprised at how it's come out for only 40min of data? Maybe I'm getting carried away aiming for 8 hours of Ha on one target? Thoughts?

Anyway, usual details:

4 x 600s Ha Astrodon 3nm filter
Avalon Linear Fast Reverse
QSI583
Lodestar X2 guide through PHD2
WO Star71 scope
Pixinsight for PP.

Comments welcome :)

I'm collecting more data on this and trying my first ever mosaic so I can hopefully update this tomorrow with another, larger FoV image.

Thanks,
Phil.
