Telescope age

Afraid not, with some of the models it was possible to give a rough age with the colour of the finish, some were sky blue, others in the pro series were gold. The more recent ones are black with a metallic sheen to them. Also some of the more recent optics have reference to the use of "Schott" glass. As these are mass market scopes, Synta, the manufacturer hasn't bothered.

Previous to Sky Watcher they were Helios, and had reasonable optics.

I think as long as the mirrors and optics are good it doesn't really mater how old the tube is every thing else can be upgraded anyway. Mount's might be a bit different but don't think that much has changed over the years with the exception of goto systems.
