+Graham Posted February 22, 2015 Share Posted February 22, 2015 Last night was the first cloud uninterrupted imaging session in a long long time. I decided to do the Leo Trip for something different. I also decided that is was going to be a proper test using the methods described in the post about DSLR processing. I set up the GT 81 with my old Canon 350 D with its clip filter. Guiding was taken care of with the ST 80 and the X Box webcam using PHD. I set BYE to run a Dither program through PHD moving the image by about 1 star's width every sub. 51 x 90 second subs at ISO 1600. 3 Darks to help balance the background. 11 Flats to get rid of those pesky Bunnies. Stacked in DSS. Adjusted in DSS. Polished a little in PS 6. I think the results speak for themselves. The guy who the DSLR Processing post was about is a genius. At ISO 1600 the noise my old 350 creates is unbelievable and it is just gone after stacking. I do have some issues with odd shaped stars in the corners but a flattener should take care of that.
