Moon, Earthshine and Venus 23/3/2015

Partly inspired by Ibbo's shots and just that Venus has been looking so stunning recently the pair caught my eye earlier this month so had to stop and take some pictures. Standing by the woods at night I got buzzed by some large birds that gave me a little bit of a fright!

D5000 18-105mm various exposures and fl's.

I like the peak on the limb that appears to just have caught the sunlight on this Earthshine pic...

I think you can just make out the gibbous phase of Venus on this one... Looking forward to seeing it as a crescent as it's been  along time since I have!

Nice pictures, Especially like the last image, apart from the lovely moon and Venus, the landscape, the twilight, and especially the way that Orion appears to hang from the tree branches really makes a nice picture. Good idea to take your camera!
