Double Cluster in Perseus (which was a bit low down)  Taken 22:38 hrs 14.04.15

Prime focus through WO FLT132 refractor. Just a single 1 second image at iso 25600.

Tweaked and adjusted using Mac Photos software.

I know its not that good, but its a start.

Ha ha....

I think they are possibly the largest commercially available binoculars you can buy...

Fujinon 150mm SX series (what they must weigh is anyones guess !  )

I've been toying with the idea of a 'bigger' pair of binocs for a while.

I've had 70mm 's before, but they were poor quality.

Docs new pair look amazing, but then so is the price : they were double what i thought they would be  :o

As for the image, well it was just a bit of fun really.

I do enjoy imaging a lot actually.

I went for the Sony camera with imaging in mind, as well as using it for normal daytime imaging.

I took it to Egypt over Easter and took some really nice shots. (daytime)

Its low light performance is certainly impressive.

It has a cool feature called 'focus peaking' when shooting in manual with a scope / lens.

But even a novice like me can see the imperfections with this image.

The stars look like grains rather than stars.

I'm in need of some sort of field flattener. Maybe the full frame chip makes this issue worse ?

I definitely need a light pollution filter. Light pollution where i live is horrific : i'd say a 9 of of 10 on my 'severity scale' !!!

This image was only 1 second.  I tried another at 1.6 seconds, then another at 3 seconds.

It was quite an eye opener just how much worse the longer exposures were though....totally washed out.

Its a steep learning curve, but i'm determined to improve  :) I have an Astrotrac mount as well.......
