Tweedledee Posted April 22, 2015 Share Posted April 22, 2015 That is a lovely widefield view, yet still has loads of fine crisp detail. This is M101, NGC5457. Glad you got the number wrong as it prompted me to find some other interesting stuff about it. I'm not sure I can see NGC 5471 in there. 5471 is a star forming HII region towards the end of the lower spiral arm. I think 5471 would look the size of a small star in the image.
