All of Damians kit is reasonably within reach.

He uses 2 Celestron 14 SCTs and a Losmandy GEM

His cameras are ZWO ASI cameras. These retail at less than £500.

He doesn't (i think) have a dedicated observatory.

I had the privilage of seeing him (and Allan Chapman) in October at the IAS.

Damian did a great talk on planerary imaging, and he has a wicked sense of humour.

But while his astro gear is within reach, i had the impression it was his IT and post processing skills that were on another level,

as well as his total dedication to his imaging. He never misses an opportunity where planets are concerned.

He doesn't have an observatory you're right, he has a roll off shed like mine :) I shamelessly stole the idea from him when me and james and Leigh (Xanthic) spent the day with him a couple of years back. I agree with you Rob his sense of humour is great and hi processing skillz are fantastic. It was a very interesting day and we learnt loads.

It was telescope a focal phone video in 4k for a minute and then processed which helped me best I can do for now, seems to a guy with very good skys that made most of those vx10l images but we can only try with what we have, good luck. Seems to be a lot of people who had the same moon colour problem that September night!
