Popular Post Nightspore Posted January 4, 2023 Popular Post Share Posted January 4, 2023 I've probably been conspicuous by my absence for a while. Unfortunately this is due to an incurable blood disease, which has scuppered my observing the past few months. My medication (and several trips with paramedics) has essentially precluded any observing for the past three months. Last year until this I had a pretty good year, with (January) being an all-time record with 16 sessions (ST80 9, 90mm SkyMax 6 and a solitary 72ED Evostar session). Highlights were seeing Venus with six Little Mak sessions. Biggest surprise was viewing a twilight Mercury with the Mak. Overall Winner January 2022 With an Unprecedented Nine January Sessions! I may be able to take a scope out around February if the latest incarnation of my medication holds up. I hope everyone is well and had a good New Year & Christmas. Clear Skies. I share your frustration about not being able to get out I have a condition which means I am too tired or in pain, or both, by the evening so it restricts the number of times I get out and when i do get out, the length of time I can manage. Not good for Astronomy Thanks philjay. Sorry to hear about your health, I too am fatigued and have chronic pain. I doubt I will be able to get out for any long sessions. Insane, they discovered the water tablets had lowered my sodium and potassium levels dangerously. I'm a loony. Well, not now, hope to get a scope out soon. Thanks, but I've had another stroke, technically only a mini stroke, but it's taken my speech and weakened my right side. Maybe when spring finally comes I'll try and venture out with a small scope.
