Happy New Year to everyone

Wow, what a month for cloud and rain fans, urgh. Therefore the number of posts reflect the lack of clear skies, lets hope the jet stream shifts and redirects the storms away from us and give us a bit of high pressure for once. You didnt know this was the Met Office Weather Forecast did you 😀

Anyrode up, back to the important bit, images. What few we have had have as usual been crackers, so without further ado:-

Deep Sky

Derbyshire Dave kicked the month off with a deep Ha Horsehead and Flame, tons of detail in there Dave

https://www.eastmidlandsstargazers.org.uk/topic/23455-horsehead-and-flame/

then he just kept adding more to it

https://www.eastmidlandsstargazers.org.uk/topic/23480-a-detailed-horse/

https://www.eastmidlandsstargazers.org.uk/topic/23479-horsehead-and-flame-in-hargb/

then he added a Wizard

https://www.eastmidlandsstargazers.org.uk/topic/23496-the-wizard-nebula-in-sho/

Ibbo gave us another dark nebula with the Ghost

https://www.eastmidlandsstargazers.org.uk/topic/23465-beware-the-bogeyman-ldn-1622-ha/

then a not often seen Shapless (well for me at least)

https://www.eastmidlandsstargazers.org.uk/topic/23502-sh2-88/

Bob Dobber was galaxy baggging

https://www.eastmidlandsstargazers.org.uk/topic/23472-messier-33-triangulum-galaxy-in-halrgb/

Bob gave us a Horsehead as well

https://www.eastmidlandsstargazers.org.uk/topic/23466-horsehead-close-up-halrgb/

then some Tadpoles

https://www.eastmidlandsstargazers.org.uk/topic/23507-tadpoles-sho-from-last-night/

Stu gave us an M42 and Running Man

https://www.eastmidlandsstargazers.org.uk/topic/23487-orion-running-man/

and a nice M45

https://www.eastmidlandsstargazers.org.uk/topic/23497-m45-in-45/

Lunar

Wow, I was the only lunar poster this month with my test of a recently restored antique scope

https://www.eastmidlandsstargazers.org.uk/topic/23494-180-year-old-moon/

Planetary

Derbyshire Dave was the only planetary poster this month with a couple of nice Jupiters

https://www.eastmidlandsstargazers.org.uk/topic/23468-jupiter-and-europa-december-5th/

https://www.eastmidlandsstargazers.org.uk/topic/23506-jupiter-and-io-dec-29th-2023/

Solar

Ibbo gave us a taster of the Sun in various flavours with loads of detail

https://www.eastmidlandsstargazers.org.uk/topic/23451-sol-30-11-23-in-3-flavours/

Astronomer Reinvented also had a look at the sun this month

Widefield

An ice monster from Ibbo

https://www.eastmidlandsstargazers.org.uk/topic/23454-beware-the-ice-monster/

Astronomer Reinvented took the Moon and Venus

https://www.eastmidlandsstargazers.org.uk/topic/23475-moon-and-venus/

So after much deliberating and flipping between images I reckon Derbyshire Daves Wizard just pips it for me. Great colour and detail, I like it a lot.

I think what my daughter calls "festive flu" restricted many of us, as well as the weather.

Well done to Dave for his Wizard.
