Stargazing with the DDAS on Cathedral Green, Derby, April 17th 2024

Recommended Posts

The Derby & District Astronomical Society is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year. We are running a series of special events to mark this anniversary and one of these is a public stargazing session on Cathedral Green outside the Museum of Making in Derby on the evening of Wednesday 17th April from 6 to 10pm. Several members scopes will be set up outside. We hope to get a glimpse of Jupiter earlier in the session and the gibbous moon should present a good target. Refreshments and loos are available inside the Italian Mill, where we will also have our Moon Globe on display (signed by some of the Apollo astronauts), as well as our meteorite collection and a video display of member's astrophotos. This is a ticketed event we are running in collaboration with Derby Museums and booking is essential for non-DDAS members.
