Yes there are lots of inexpensive mods you can do to your excellent Newtonian scope on those cloudy nights. I proper envy your French clear skies. Keep a lookout for those Wymeswold nights. I will keep a lookout for the Wymesmold dates, Chris, as it's only about 35 minutes from me. I ordered the scope and collimating tool today, so expect to receive the big boxes on Wednesday. I plucked up the courage to tell my wife how big my new toy will be. Ironic really, I have spent 37 years of marriage trying to convince her that size isn't important, and now I am totally reversing that assertion!
