My Workshop/Warm Room/Man Cave Build

Doc

Recommended Posts

Finished painting the ceiling and windows today. The walls are getting a coat of very light grey to contrast with the new dark grey rubber flooring.

Also bought myself a Evolution Sliding mitre saw and a Evolution table saw so I can build the work benches.

Skirting and archirtrave fitted and painted.

Angles are a doddle with a mitre saw

Next paint the walls light grey.

Thanks for the comments guys.

No only the first coat.

So far the ceiling has two coats of white. The walls one coat of white plus PVA, then a white second coat, then two coats of grey.

I'll post some pictures tomorrow.

Pretty much done for now.

Fitted plugs, red light, and a general touch up of paint.

All I have to do now is lay the rubber flooring once it's ordered, but that can wait till I get back from holiday. Also some window blinds.

I set up my table saw today. Looks a good bit of kit, very loud but cuts brilliantly.

Better start saving for the wood to build the benches next.

Thanks Pete it was a great experience I really enjoyed it.

Never built a bench before but I have plans in my head for a 15 foot x 3 foot wide bench with a solid 2" thick wooden worktop.

Also it's going to have 8 cupboards and 8 drawers.

Wish me luck

Well done Mick, your level of finish is fantastic! The 'workshop' will be 'home from home' when you have finished it. ?

  • 4 weeks later...

I laid the rubber flooring. It's pretty easy to do and just clicks into place and then it is cut to size and slid under the skirting boards.

I placed a clock on the wall and all I have to do now is put up a couple of roller blinds.

And then that is the workshop build finished.

I'll start a new thread on building the work benches.

To be honest it looks to good to be a workshop. I think I've gone a bit OTT on this one.

Fantastic finish Mick ?

You could do open heart surgery in there!

You just need another shed to put your workshop stuff in! :)

Cheers everyone for your comments.

The floor does look good and It's really nice to walk on but how long it lasts for is another question.
