700D with IR filter removed.  Modifying my 1000D would've cost more than I paid for it so this was the logical alternative, or that's that's what I've convinced myself.

My advice would have been stick with the unmodified and save your funds for a cooled Astro camera but it’s a good camera you’ve got yourself 👍

That's the long term plan, but way off into the future when I can afford to put a permanent imaging rig together.

I can't believe I've only just noticed the gamepad option on EQASCOM, should make things easier!

I like the look of that Stu, it looks very compact 🙂

Should do the job. There were a couple of reviews from astrophotographers which were positive.

Nice, is that to replace an existing zoom EP or an addition?

No, its just an addition for my mono set (35mm, 12.5mm, and this zoom 15-7mm, with Powermate options if needed)

I've never really got on with zooms much, and only had the Baader 8-24 Mk4 before this with i didn't care for.

However, i think this one is a bit different.

Definitely. I've always been put off by the FOV on zooms. I look forward to seeing what you think after a good test drive.

I have a Baader Mk3 and I’ve fallen out with it a few times. I’ve been using it lately for Solar and Lunar observing and it works well. It’s obviously quicker than keep changing eps but I feel the views are better with single fl eps.

Auto focus excellent once you’ve configured correctly 👍

Overtime earnings drained. No more dancing round the mount with my laptop while it slews to a target 😁 Just waiting for a longer dovetail to mount these and my PPBA on.

Hadn’t planned on getting a camera holder just yet but one come up on astrobuy at a good price hopefully Santa will drop the adapter to connect my nifty fifty to the zwo533mc, then make a rail system to hold autofocuser large.3F997A58-B526-4268-AAF2-64E3BAC1BCEA.jpeg.94901c32862b9b5a399c2e421cd7992b.jpeg

Interesting bit of kit.

Pegasus astro had their latest gear on show at last weekends IAS show with their UK head rep in attendance.

They were demoing their new harmonic drive mount, and a new electronic micro focuser which looks like the evolution of what you have above.
