Not as many clear nights this month, that together with the light nights has made it a bit more difficult to pull the photons in. However our band of intrepid EMS imagers have not been daunted by this and have filled the gallery again with some excellent images.

So here is my round up for the images for March

Comets, Asteroids, Meteors & Meteorites
Panstarrs is still around but getting harder to spot and image particularly with teh lighter nights but Mt T gave us 2 good shots here http://www.eastmidlandsstargazers.org.uk/topic/4968-pan-starrs/

Deep Sky
More clear nights than we have been used to over the past few months has meant a great turn out for DSO images this month.

Antares_Paul started the months postings with his Garnet star http://www.eastmidlandsstargazers.org.uk/topic/4907-the-garnet-star/

A Leo Triplet from Perkil8r shows good detail despite the fog http://www.eastmidlandsstargazers.org.uk/topic/4883-a-quick-foggy-leo-triplet/ and also an M51 http://www.eastmidlandsstargazers.org.uk/topic/4924-bad-m51-300413-widefield-1-degree/ as well as an M81/82 shot here http://www.eastmidlandsstargazers.org.uk/topic/4938-cloud-infested-bodes-neq6-first-light/

Ron Clarke gave us a couple of nice galaxies from Coma Berniceshttp://www.eastmidlandsstargazers.org.uk/topic/4918-two-from-coma-berenices/ as well as M51 here http://www.eastmidlandsstargazers.org.uk/topic/4957-m51-first-attempt/ and just to show us summer is on its way M27 here http://www.eastmidlandsstargazers.org.uk/topic/5121-also-m27-27513/

Ibbo gave us a nice close up of M51 with his RC here http://www.eastmidlandsstargazers.org.uk/topic/4921-m51/ and a 1st light with M101 here http://www.eastmidlandsstargazers.org.uk/topic/5131-first-light-m101/

Red dwarf went for M13 http://www.eastmidlandsstargazers.org.uk/topic/4919-robs-attempt-at-m13/

A lovely colourful M13 from Peter Shah http://www.eastmidlandsstargazers.org.uk/topic/4901-m13-in-colour-this-time/

I do like Grahams completed project of the Whale galaxy http://www.eastmidlandsstargazers.org.uk/topic/4940-whale-galaxy-project-complete/ shows good depth and colour and his close up of the bubble shows plenty of detail http://www.eastmidlandsstargazers.org.uk/topic/5000-back-on-the-bubble-last-night-13052013/ and also showed us what a Helios refractor can do with the Veil http://www.eastmidlandsstargazers.org.uk/topic/5122-veil-neb-a-work-in-progress/

As usual Ollypenrice came up with a gob smacking set of images from France http://www.eastmidlandsstargazers.org.uk/topic/4973-recent-activity/ and here http://www.eastmidlandsstargazers.org.uk/topic/4975-this-blew-my-socks-off/ and here http://www.eastmidlandsstargazers.org.uk/topic/5070-sadr-region-developments/

Sheila gave us a shot of M101 here http://www.eastmidlandsstargazers.org.uk/topic/4988-trying-to-use-astrobin-just-trial/

andyboy1970 gave us a close up of M27 http://www.eastmidlandsstargazers.org.uk/topic/5118-m27-the-dumbell/

Lunar
I liked tbirds earthshine shots here http://www.eastmidlandsstargazers.org.uk/topic/5004-moon-13th-may-2013/ particularly the widefield shot

PaulG gave us a nice 5.8 day moon image http://www.eastmidlandsstargazers.org.uk/topic/5023-58-day-moon/

Ron Clarke put his new MN190 to good use http://www.eastmidlandsstargazers.org.uk/topic/5048-first-light-moon/

and billywhizzzzz showed that webcams can still give useful images http://www.eastmidlandsstargazers.org.uk/topic/5083-last-nights-attempt-at-moon/

Planetary
Saturn has again been the main target this month with catman starting the month off with a set of images here http://www.eastmidlandsstargazers.org.uk/topic/4875-saturn-2904-0105/ and here http://www.eastmidlandsstargazers.org.uk/topic/4939-saturn-05052013/, I like the colour shots, nice going Felix

Dawson put his new 180 Mak to good use with his 1st Saturn images here http://www.eastmidlandsstargazers.org.uk/topic/5020-saturn-16513-asi120mc/

Billywhizzzzz gave us his 1st go at Saturn here http://www.eastmidlandsstargazers.org.uk/topic/5123-first-go-at-saturn/

tbirds widefield of the dance of the planets, (Jupiter, Venus and Mercury conjunction) shows great atmosphere http://www.eastmidlandsstargazers.org.uk/topic/5093-jupiter-venus-and-mercury-24th-may-2013/

Sunny Phil caught the difficult to capture Mercury here http://www.eastmidlandsstargazers.org.uk/topic/5128-webcam-image-of-mercury/

Sketching
No sketches submitted this month

Solar
We had a few days of sun this month and folks were out there to capture it

Perkil8r s full disc in white light is particularly nice http://www.eastmidlandsstargazers.org.uk/topic/4906-sun-in-white-light-020513/

Ibbo s images in Ha of the sun through his rebuilt PST just blew me away, fantastic detail and superb colour, here http://www.eastmidlandsstargazers.org.uk/topic/4962-sun-in-ha/ here http://www.eastmidlandsstargazers.org.uk/topic/4964-more-ha-from-the-7th/

and here http://www.eastmidlandsstargazers.org.uk/topic/5051-a-slice-of-the-sun/

tbird gave us a nice full disc here http://www.eastmidlandsstargazers.org.uk/topic/5003-sun-13th-may-2013/

Widefield
No widefield images submitted this month

There have been some super images this month but the image that smacked my gob is

Ibbo s HA sun shots. They are full of detail and colour especially the images posted on the 8th here http://www.eastmidlandsstargazers.org.uk/topic/4964-more-ha-from-the-7th/

However the profile of the prominence is fascinating and well captured and processed and that one gets my vote

Nice work Steve a key for Astrophotography Tools (APT) is on its way to you

So again, congrats and thanks to all imagers this month for contributing

Phil

Congratulations Steve

Big thanks to Phil for the write up. I sometimes miss a few of the images so it's good to be able to see everything submitted via this 'monthly menu'.

I'm sure it will have been discussed before but these monthly winner images are screaming out to be compiled into an EMS calendar.

Thanks to all for sharing. Clear skies.

Regards.
